He is a highly respected neurosurgeon renowned for his expertise in minimally invasive spine and brain surgery, now focusing exclusively on the spine. Dr. Kornel’s arrival underscores our commitment to delivering exceptional care to patients, particularly those dealing with back pain, spine injuries, and related conditions.
Dr. Kornel brings a wealth of experience in treating complex spinal conditions, including herniated discs, spinal stenosis, degenerative diseases, tumors, and chronic pain. His approach aligns seamlessly with our mission to provide the highest standard of care. By utilizing state-of-the-art minimally invasive techniques such as microdiscectomy, laminectomy, and various spinal fusions, Dr. Kornel is dedicated to ensuring that our patients experience minimal discomfort and benefit from quicker recovery times.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Kornel has held academic positions at prestigious institutions such as Weill Cornell School of Medicine, Columbia University School of Medicine, and Yale University School of Medicine. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Kornel has held leadership roles at several renowned hospitals, including Northern Westchester Hospital, where he served as Chief of Neurosurgery and Director of the Institute of Neurosciences.
