A Legacy of Orthopedic Excellence

From a young age, Dr. Daniel Buchalter was inspired by his father, Dr. Joel Buchalter, a founder of Somers Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group, PLLC. Growing up in the picturesque horse country of Westchester County, Dr. Daniel Buchalter saw the profound impact that his father had on the lives of his patients and the immense joy it brought him to have the privilege to care for his neighbors. Having developed an independent fascination with the inner workings of both cars and computers Dr. Daniel Buchalter saw a clear career path that combined both his mechanical inclination with his desire to be able to serve his community in the same way that his father did his whole life. His father's legacy as a revered orthopedic surgeon and community leader, combined with his mentorship at home, profoundly shaped Dr. Daniel Buchalter's career path and interest in dedicating his life to the care of patients in his community.

Looking to the Future

Looking ahead, Dr. Buchalter is excited to  work alongside his lifetime mentor and role model, his father, and the esteemed Somers Orthopaedics team, to continue to bring the latest orthopedic advancements to the Carmel, Mt. Kisco, Newburgh, and Danbury communities. His goal is to enhance patient care, improve care quality, and guarantee the highest possible patient satisfaction by bringing the latest and greatest orthopedic advancements to his patients.

Beyond Medicine: A Life of Passion and Service

Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Buchalter leads a vibrant and fulfilling life. He continues to restore and race cars, build computers, and has recently developed an interest in sailing with his father and clamming. He also closely follows Formula 1, loves to ski, and is an avid weightlifter.  Growing up in a family dedicated to service and animal rescue, Dr. Buchalter has been actively involved in volunteer work with animal rescue organizations. He was an early contributor to a local needle exchange program, helping to properly discard used needles in the community and educate local neighbors on proper use and disposal safety. Dr. Buchalter brings the same dedication and joy to his personal interests as he does to his medical practice, enriching both his life and the lives of those around him.
