Scott Gray, MD, is an orthopaedic surgeon at Somers Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group. He has been in practice in the greater Danbury, Connecticut, area since 1987.
He was the Director of the Danbury Hospital Orthopedic Clinic from 2014-2021. He formed the Danbury Foot & Ankle Center as Co-Director. Dr. Gray’s expertise and special interests are in adult and pediatric foot and ankle problems. His patients benefit from a broad and comprehensive range of foot and ankle care that includes sports injuries, arthritis surgery, total ankle replacement, traumatic injury reconstruction, deformity reconstruction, pediatric and congenital foot reconstruction, and diabetic care.
Dr. Gray graduated from the University of Rhode Island with honors. He attended the Georgetown University School of Medicine, where he did research on bone healing physiology. He completed a general surgical internship and a one-year residency at the Maine Medical Center in Portland before returning home to Boston, where he did his orthopaedic residency at Tufts-New England Medical Center. It was then that he received specialty training in foot and ankle surgery.
He was awarded top doctor from NY Top Docs, a division of USA Top Docs, in 2024.
He has enormous energy and tirelessly provides his patients with personalized care. He remains actively involved in the CT Orthopaedic Society as one of its past presidents and a current board member. Dr. Gray participates in medical politics and legislative efforts on behalf of patients and fellow physicians across the state, and is a physician contracting expert consulting with many physician organizations.
In his free time, Dr. Gray rides bikes with his wife, swims competitively, sings in his wife’s synagogue choir, and enjoys time with his grown children and grandchildren.
